This is a short week for me because vacay starts on Thursday and it can't come fast enough.

+ When I look at this pic of my two loves, I'm sad because Kayla looks so grown up here.  She's happy to finally be at the tallest level to ride the monster roller coasters so to welcome her to the world of scary adult roller coasters, my husband took the day off on Friday to go with her on her maiden ride on The Behemoth and Leviathan.

+ Friday was catch up with friends day.  While my husband and Kayla were livin' la vida loca at Wonderland, I was at a facial appointment with one of my besties.

+ Finished the last book in the Game of Throne series and it was....meh. I hate it when a series takes a turn for the worst in terms of plot and writing.  Oh well.  Right now, I'm reading this and so far, so good.

+ Speaking of reading, I'm on track with my Goodreads 2018 reading challenge.  I completely forgot about this so it's nice to see that I'm doing well.  Add me on Goodreads if you have an account and we can share our love of books.

+ There's a person whose been leaving some great comments on this here blog but they are named "UNKNOWN" - no blog name, no actual name, no trace of who this person is.  Tell me who you are; let's be friends.

+ I love it when you go out and they (store/restaurant etc) play throwbacks.

This time around, it was Queen.  Man, I'd forgotten how amazing Queen was, and still, is.  Anyone who doesn't agree that Freddie Mercury isn't one of the greatest vocalists/legends of all time needs to step back and reevaluate themselves.  Just listen to him and David Bowie singing Under Pressure; this isn't acapella but the melody/harmony has been stripped out, leaving only their incredible voices.   Skip to 1:58 to listen to Freddie's amazing range.  #goosebumps.

I then fell deeper into the rabbit hole and watched everything there was about the formation of Queen, their interviews, concerts to Freddie's unfortunate death in 1991.

+ My cheap chinawoman ways always pays off.  I've been searching for a new pair of wireless (on-ear) headphones for my workouts since my current Jaybird pair is dying.  The other pair I thought would be a good fit wasn't (Jabra Move wireless) and I'm not about to throw away $400 on a pair of Beats headphones because that price - LMAOOO.

So after some sleuthing, I found this pair that got great reviews.  Made by Fiddy Cent.  I guess he's trying to compete with Dr. Dre? Not that this matters but this got some good reviews for sound quality and fit and to top it off, I got them on sale for $74CAD, free shipping AND via ebates so wins all around.  Just to let you know what an awesome deal I got -- these retail for over $200USD.

And because it's Monday and it sucks, let's look at the most adorable picture that is everything to make ourselves feel better:

  2. Oh my goodness - that puppy bath photo. Almost makes today not so Monday-y. Almost. One of my college roommates would play Queen's Greatest Hits constantly -- I didn't appreciate it then. I do now and have looked for those CDs with no success.

  6. Wow! Kayla does look so big. It's crazy how quickly kids grow up. Every time I see my nephews and niece, I'm like who are you? You were tiny two minutes ago! There is a movie about Queen coming out later this year - it looks freaking amazing. Here is a link to it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP0VHJYFOAU. And yes, Under Pressure is great. Remember Vanilla Ice? And he tried to claim he didn't sample. Yeah.

    1. Yup, replying to myself. It's Tanya from A Mindful Migration. I changed my email address after I got mugged. For some reason on some blogger accounts, even though I'm properly logged on, it reads me as anonymous. Really hurts my feeling Google! :D
